Using ZAP! Voice Control

Configure The Application For Control:
In this tutorial, a Windows Explorer folder will be controlled
by ZAP! Voice Control. This tutorial will demonstrate how easy it is use
ZAP! Voice Control's powerful features!
1. Open ZAP! Voice Control's main form and click the
Configure button.
2. Click on the Application/Vocabulary button to create a
new Vocabulary File.
3. Click the New Vocabulary toolbar button and enter a
name of explorer for the new file and hit <ENTER>.
4. Select the newly created file in the Vocabulary list box
and hit <TAB>.
5. In the Edit Command5. In the Edit Command textbox, type the following:
minimize application:% N (select the preceding text and copy and paste if
preferred).
6. Click the Save Changes command button and then click the
Application/Vocabulary button to return to the Application Configuration form.ft"
7. Open up Windows Explorer, create a new folder called
Networking under the My Documents\My eBooks folders as shown
below. Don't create the Adobe Acrobat document yet, that's in the next
tutorial.
8. Select the file path in the Address bar and copy it to
the clipboard.

9. Switch over to ZAP! Voice Control where the Application
Configuration form is still open; hit the Application/Vocabulary button twice.
This "refreshes" the list of currently running applications.
10. Drag the instance of the Windows Explorer folder from the
list box on the left to the list box on the right, as shown below.

11. With the Windows Explorer instance selected in the
list box on the left, hit the <TAB> key so that the cursor is flashing in the
Voice Activation Command textbox. Type in "explore networking" as show above.
12. Hit <TAB> again, and select the explorer vocabulary
(created in step 3) from the drop-down combobox .
13. Hit <TAB> key again and type in13. Hit <TAB> key again and type in: "explorer /e, <paste in the
path-text that was copied in step "8" (don't include the quotes, either). The
way Windows treats views Explorer has can be modified, as explained in the
Explorer Hacks section.
14. Hit <TAB> again so that the Save Command button has
the focus and hit <ENTER>. Close the Application Configuration form
and close Windows Explorer, too.
Congratulations! You have just created your first ZAP!
Voice Controlled application. Now, to test it out to see if it really
works.
Testing the Windows Explorer Application Example:
1. Click on the Sound Meter on the ZAP! Voice Control main
form to activate the Speech Recognition Engine. Indicator marks should be
seen moving in the Sound Meter if the recognition engine is active.
2. Voice this command: "explore networking"
The statusbar in ZAP! Voice Control should reflect the command
just spoken. The Windows Explorer folder should then open up.
