Using ZAP! Voice Control -- Adobe Acrobat Example
Configure The Application For
Control:
1. If not already done,
complete steps 1-7 as indicated for the
Windows Explorer example creating a new Vocabulary File named
acrobat. In addition to the Dictionary Word that was created in step 5 of
that tutorial, create three more additional Dictionary Words:
maximize application:% X
restore application:% R
close application:% C
making sure to Save Changes after the creation of every one.
2. Inside of Windows Explorer under the Networking folder created in step 7 in
the Windows Explorer example, place an Adobe Acrobat file with this name:
TestKing 70-216 Network Infrastructure v8.pdf
3. Open up the Adobe Acrobat file named in above step.
4. Click the Application/Vocabulary button twice making sure that the instance
of the Adobe Acrobat program shows up in the Currently Running Applications list
box and drag the Acrobat instance to the list box on the right.
5. Select the instance of Acrobat in the Voice Command Applications list box and
hit the <TAB> key.
6. Create a voice-application name called: testking network infrastructure
in the Voice Applications Command textbox.
7. select the acrobat Vocabulary File from the combobox.
8. Before performing the next step, be sure to click the Save Changes button.
9. Click the instance of Explorer in the Voice Command Applications list box and
copy the path in the File/Path textbox.
10. Append the Adobe Acrobat filename to that path. The File/Path name should
look something similar to this:
C:\Documents and Settings\Rob Hyland.MASTER\My Documents\My
eBooks\Networking\TestKing 70-216 Network Infrastructure v8.pdf
8. Click the Save Command button and close the Application Configuration form.
Close Adobe Acrobat.
Turn on the Speech Engine and voice the command: "testking network
infrastructure" and the Adobe pdf file should open.
Try manipulating the document some more by using the minimize application,
maximize application and the other commands that were created.
