Start
an Instigation
As mentioned
earlier, once it has been decided that work must be done elsewhere on a robot
part, then an Instigator is the one who initiates that a move take place to
transport the assemblies to another location.
Once logged in as
a person in the Instigation role, you can begin to assign parameters to the
Instigation move as follows:
Starting an Instigation
You will be
taken to this screen which allows the move parameters to be filled-in. Notice
at the top, underneath the TAR Logo, that there are breadcrumbs to mark your
navigation as you traverse through the pages defined for your role. You can
also log-out at any time and be taken back to the TAR Login screen to login as
a different user in a different role, if desired.
On the far
right, there is a label that also tells you what page you are currently on; and
every page in the site will have this same "look-and-feel" to it.
Moving on down
the page, there are various sections, each of which has fields that must be
filled in before the move can be submitted for review.
It is important
to note that the parameters of the move are not validated until the page is
submitted.
The primary
fields required for the successful submission of an Instigation are as follows:
- Valid Source and Destination location selections
- Move description
The other
parameters have default values in them and will be used upon submission.
To get started,
select the "Change" button for selecting a start-up location. Since this is a
very detailed and articulate operation; it is explained in its’ own section, here.
Once Source and
Destination locations have been selected, the next task that must be performed
is to decide what type of move it is that will take place, how many men it will
take and how long it will take. Other things to consider will be when do you
want the move to take place'
To begin
completing these tasks, click on the drop down combo box for assigning a
description as to defining what the move encompasses...
Move Resources
As can be seen,
there are several "canned-move" definitions that can be selected to use for the
particular move on which you’re working. The drop down grid control also shows
how many men it typically takes to complete this standard type of move and how
long it should take to complete.
As an Instigator, you’re not limited to just these moves, as you can create your own
custom move, as shown below.
Custom Move Creation
One of the
selections in the drop down combo is to create a new, unique custom description
name for the move on which you’re working. One word of caution: these custom
moves are written to the database so be very articulate and consult with your
team-mates to make sure that indeed, you need to assign a new move.
If you do
decide that a custom move is to be mandated; then the Manpower and Duration
fields must be assigned as well. These fields are validated upon submission and
the stipulations of their validity are as follows:
- Manpower: 1-4 men
- Duration: 15-45 minutes (in 5-minute increments)
If one or more
of these parameters is invalid you will be notified upon submission of the
Instigation.
Moving along,
the next details of the move that should be examined are the date and time that
the move is desired.
Desired Move Time
Changing
the Desired Move Date/Time
By clicking the
"Change" button in the "Move Details" section, you can change when you want the
move to take place. Use 24-hour Military time for the time portion.
By default, the
Desired move time will be the same time as the Instigation Initiation time.
The last
section of the Instigation move simply allows you to define if you want an
email to be sent to someone else, and the importance of the move.
Priority Level And Instigator Email
Once you are
satisfied with how the form looks, click the "Continue" button which will allow
you to confirm the parameters of this
move.
